Five Card Draw is a widely recognized variant of poker. In this game, each player is dealt five cards, followed by a betting round. Subsequently, players have the option to discard up to four cards and receive an equal number from the deck. Another betting round ensues before the hands are revealed in what is known as the showdown. The player with the highest-ranking hand claims the pot. An ante of one nickel is contributed by all players at the beginning of each round, followed by the distribution of five cards to each player.
